Blake
Product, design, code.
In Short
Canadian full-stack developer and product designer with a background split between Info Tech and Design. Currently building things at Avatone and building Cremini on the side.
I grew up taking apart anything with screws and making weird creatures in Spore. Not much has changed — I still just like making things and figuring out how they work. Outside of that, I camp, cycle, and collect Japanese chef knives.
Past Roles
Full Stack Developer & Product Designer
I touch most parts of the product — designing flows in Figma, then building them out across mobile, web, and backend. The stuff I care about is making sure what ships actually feels good to use, not just works on paper.
UI / UX Designer
Designed interfaces for fitness and tech products. Lots of translating product goals into screens that made sense to real people, and plenty of back-and-forth to get it right.
Junior Full Stack Developer
Built a file management system from scratch — trees, recursion, the whole deal. Added sharing, browsing, search, and sorting with the API work to back it up. Started in plain HTML/JS/CSS, eventually rewrote everything in Vue with TypeScript and C# on the backend. Mocked things up in Figma and pitched ideas to the team.
Freelance Designer
Took on a contract with UAV Pro, a drone startup, designing their control panel interfaces.
Recent Projects
CreminiVisit
A fast, minimal note-taking app built with Rust and TypeScript on Tauri. No bloat — just a clean space to think and write. Currently in closed alpha, and community feedback shapes what gets built.
AvatoneVisit
A fitness app that turns your workouts into a game — built in Dart/Flutter, with the marketing site in Framer and digital frameworks in Astro. Track lifts, level up, and actually want to open the app again.
The Space BetweenVisit
Capstone project — a psychological horror game built in Unity that reads your actual heart rate through a custom sensor and changes gameplay in real time. I was the designer and lead developer, handling audio, enemy AI, UI, branding, and web. Earned an Honourable Mention for Accessibility at Level Up Showcase in Toronto.
Whodunnit
A native macOS app built in Swift that visualises git contributions — colour-coded contributors, commit dashboards, calendar views, intelligent filters. Born out of needing hard proof of who did what on a group project, then turned into a proper tool because nothing else did it the way I wanted.
